As a Clinical Hypno-psychotherapist and NLP Practitioner specialised in perinatal support, I help parents overcome anxiety, low-mood and symptoms of depression, anger, low confidence and low self-esteem. Additionally, I support women and birthing people to heal from difficult experiences around birth, fertility, miscarriage, loss, pregnancy complications or breastfeeding.

Sessions are held online or in-person from two locations in Bristol (The Centre for Whole Health in BS3, and The Alma Physiotherapy Clinic in BS6).

I offer free 30-minute initial consultation.

Please note that I am currently on maternity leave. Therapy sessions will resume in Spring 2025.
Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a type of ‘talking therapy’, that combines the use of psychotherapy with hypnosis. Hypnosis is a natural state of deep inner absorption, achieved through guided relaxation, allowing the mind to relax and focus on thoughts and suggestions that may be beneficial.
As a modern psychotherapeutic approach, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy uses practical, structured, and well-researched strategies to help people make significant, positive changes in their lives. In Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, we concentrate on what you want to achieve (the solution) rather than whatever prompted you to seek help (the problem).

What to expect during our Solution Focused Hypnotherapy sessions?

A typical session includes:

Discussion of the issues for which you are seeking help and how you would like things to be different, including your goals and best hopes for how you would like things to be in the future (this could include a wide variety of things, such as wanting to feel more relaxed or confident, to cope better with things in your life, or to overcome a phobia. Goals may also include wanting to change certain behaviours, such as to sleep better, to create better eating habits or to feel more in control of your emotions and calmer as a parent).

Discussion of the changes you may have already observed 'what's been good'.

Information about how the brain works and how it relates to your experiences.

Solution focused questions and other techniques to help you consider and refine your solutions, helping you to move forward in your life. Depending on your circumstances, these discussions may also involve other elements of Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) as appropriate.

After this, I'll gently guide you to rest in a deeply relaxed trance state, where your mind can focus on and further absorb and reflect on the things that have been discussed during the session.

Please note that trance used in hypnotherapy is very different from the kind of things you might have seen in ‘stage hypnosis’. The trance we use as therapists is a relaxed state where we experience changes in our conscious awareness – almost like being in a daydream. During this time, the unconscious mind is more aware and can focus on helpful suggestions and thoughts. Trance is a very natural and safe state through which you remain in control.

3-step rewind uses gentle NLP techniques alongside deep relaxation to release and neutralise the difficult feelings attached to a specific experience.
The memory of what happened doesn’t go away, but it should no longer provoke anxiety, panic, guilt, anger, or sadness so you can move forward with your life feeling more calm, in control and at peace.

This process can also help with phobias, including Tokophobia (severe fear of childbirth and/or pregnancy), or to resolve other challenging events that may be affecting your journey into parenthood.
3-Step Rewind is a process where you are guided through self-healing.
​
The 'process' takes place over 3 sessions that last around one hour each.

The first session gives you the chance to share your story (if you wish to) and to reflect on how you would like to feel once those difficult feelings are gone. Together we will set a goal state. The first session also includes a guided relaxation at the end.

The second session is dedicated to the rewind process itself.

The third session gives you a chance to reflect on the positive changes you might have already noticed since the rewind took place. I’ll ask a few questions to ensure that the ‘goal state' has been achieved and we will close the process with another guided relaxation that will reinforce those positive changes.
